The world has put Shakespeare on a pedestal, but beyond the plays we know little about the man. For example, he spent most of his adult life in London, but nobody knows where, while his family stayed in Stratford-upon-Avon–a 3+ day journey away in those times. What kind of father and husband could he have been? And he raised his daughters as illiterates. Makes me wonder about his character.
